      "service_description": "As a minister’s son, Dr. Chrispens lived throughout various parts of the country as he grew up. Before becoming a dentist, he worked as a research chemist. After shadowing two friends in medical and dental school, he saw how significantly a great dentist could impact the individual lives of their patients and began pursuing his career in dentistry.\n\nAfter completing his dental degree at Loma Linda University, Dr. Chrispens continued his post-doctoral work to earn a certificate in periodontics from Eastman Dental Center and an additional residency in airway/sleep dentistry. He has also served on the faculty at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and in the US Navy Dental Corps before shifting to private periodontal practice in 1981.\n\nDr. Chrispens’s focus on preventive dentistry and CAMBRA techniques (Caries Management by Risk Assessment) has even taken him to the point of working with NASA research scientists to develop tooth decay prevention mouth rinses that are used by today’s astronauts. His commitment to patients earned him a 5 Star Yelp Award and Top Periodontist in Orange County Magazine.",
