Who is BASTAY?

BASTAY is Buenos Aires's premier agent for short and long term rental apartments and Concierge Services for international travellers, Argentinean residents and international companies.  We find apartments for thousands of travellers each year; so whether you are looking for a luxury holiday stay or you are travelling on a tight budget look no further.  BAStay operates a multi-lingual one-stop-shop for all your travel needs in both Argentina and Latin America.

What is the shortest time I can rent an apartment?

BAStay will find you an apartment for a long weekend, or truly flexible rental plans up to six months with an option to renew your agreement for one year.  We aim to offer travellers the most flexible terms possible to suit both their travel plans and budgets.  We counsel and encourage our clients to experience Buenos Aires before committing to an apartment or district for a period longer than 3 months.

What does the rent include?

Your rent payment includes all utilities and bills, apart from telephone calls that are paid with 'top-up card' bought at most retail outlets, and in most cases, the cost of a maid.

How do I reserve my apartment?

Complete an on-line registration form indicating what apartment you wish to rent. Our advisor will contact you shortly afterwards to confirm availability and advise on the next step to complete the reservation process - if you cannot wait or your requirement is very urgent, email reserva@bastay.com or call (54 11) 48035184 now.

How do I guarantee my reservation?

Once you receive our advisors email you confirming the totals costs.

Completing your reservation is simple; you pay 20% of the total rent as a non-refundable deposit (maximum one month), our administration fee and you then pay the balance of your rent and security deposit on check-in.  Your deposit payment must be sent using PAYPAL - by bank transfer, credit or debit cards or if you do not want to pay online you may transfer money using Western Union.

 

Please note that your reservation is not confirmed until we received your 20% deposit payment. The payment of your deposit is your full and binding acceptance of our terms and conditions. Please see PAYPAL - one of the world’s most secure online global payment systems, you can register on our site or we send you a PayPal generated email, simply click the ‘Pay Now’ button and pay accounts@bastay.com.  PayPal is both simpler and cheaper than Western Union - you only pay an additional merchant fee of 4%.

 

If you want to pay by Western Union, go to http://www.westernunion.com/info/selectCountry.asp to pay by telephone, over the internet or find your closest office - your payment must be sent to our agent, Veronica Mariela Balsamello, DNI: 31315558, Buenos Aires, Argentina.  You must forward your confirmation of payment to veronica@bastay.com with your Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN).  Your reservation is confirmed when she verifies your email and confirms the MTCN, this can take time and your apartment is not guaranteed until we recive payment.

 

When do I pay the rental balance and security deposit?

When we check you in, we will ask you to pay the balance of your rent and a security deposit  - we only accept Dollars or Argentinean Pesos.  Please bring the exact cash with you to the check-in, as the maximum you may withdraw from a local ATM is USD$300.00. We do not carry change.  If you cannot pay in full, you cannot sign a contract for the agreed period; we may be able to sign a shorter contract and then renew, this will cost an additional $35.00, so please bring the exact Dollars, Dimes and Cents. 

 

How do I get into my apartment?

Our Concierge team will check you into your apartment.  You simply tell us when you will arrive (why not ask us to provide a transfer service from and to the airport) and a member of our team will be at the apartment to greet you and hand over your keys.  If your check-in time is earlier than 08h00 or later than 18h00 local time, or you need late night/early morning check-ins, they are only agreed by special arrangement and we charge US$15.00.  Please notify us if you are going to be late, as you will be charged an additional USD$5.00 for every hour our check-in team has to wait for you!  Your good manners - notification of your late arrival will save you money!!

 

Who checks us out?

Generally, the landlord will check you out and hand back your security deposit.  The landlord may make reasonable deuctions for damage, please check your apartment carefully on check-in and alert us within 24hrs if you find that something does not work.    

 

What if something goes wrong or I need some advice about my apartment?

You will be checked into your apartment by one of our Concierge team. Our agents in BA will give you their contact details and will assist you for the duration of your stay.  You simply contact them to liaise with your landlord to resolve any problem.

Terms and Conditions of business:

We do not charge the landlord. Over and above the published rents, www.buenosairesstay.com and www.bastay.com charge an additional administration Fee of 10% of total rental contract with a minimum charge of USD$ 30 and a maximum of USD$ 150. This is a one off fee to be paid in cash on check in.
Booking Conditions:
Reservations must be confirmed with a 20% reservation deposit by either:
1) PayPal ��" we email you an invoice with a secure ‘one-click’ secure payment process.  There is an additional 4% merchant fee.

2) Western Union
Displayed rental rates are final prices. The rental price includes electricity, gas, water, cable TV, building fees, city taxes and, if applicable, weekly maid service.  For non-exact periods of time the total cost of the stay will be calculated according to the applicable weekly or monthly rates and charged at a daily rate. For example, if an apartment costs US$ 170/week or US$500/month, a reservation of 17 nights is calculated on the basis of the weekly rate and will cost US$413. A reservation of 40 nights is calculated on the basis of the monthly rate and will cost US$667.  Note: A month is calculated as 30 days. 

The Security Deposit is calculated according to the length of the stay:
- Up to 2 weeks = 1 week deposit.
- Up to 1 month = 2 weeks deposit.
- 1 month + = 1 month deposit.
The rent, security deposit and administration fee are to be paid in cash, US dollars, Euros or Argentinean pesos at the time of check-in.
For rental periods longer than three months, the guest must pay the first month rent, and the last month rent, security deposit, and administration fee. Thereafter, we will collect your rent by agreement on a monthly basis.
The security deposit will be refunded at the time of check-out if the apartment is vacated in perfect condition. The cost to repair any damage caused by the guest will be deducted from the security deposit. If the cost to repair any damage exceeds the amount of the security deposit the difference must be paid by the guest.

Late Check-in, Late Check-out Fees:
www.buenosairesstay.com and www.bastay.com offers check-in and check-out with no charge from Monday to Sunday from 8:00 AM to 18:00 PM (-3 GMT).  Out-of-hours check-in and check-out from Monday to Sunday after 18:00 to 08:00 are charged US$ 15 and US$5 an hour waiting time.
Length of stay:

The minimum and maximum stay periods are specified for each apartment on the www.buenosairesstay.com and www.bastay.com websites.
The temporary lease agreement has a beginning and ending date and may not be automatically extended, if a guest wishes to stay-on, they must notify www.buenosairesstay.com and www.bastay.com as soon as possible before the end date of the current contract.
A new contract will be possible only if the apartment is available for the requested extra period.
The cost of the extended period will be calculated according to the terms and conditions specified in “Rental Charges and Deposit” section, above.
Responsibilities of  www.buenosairesstay.com and www.bastay.com:
 www.buenosairesstay.com and www.bastay.com is in the business of matching persons seeking, and property owners offering short term apartment rentals.  We do not act for the Landlord; we act as an agent that connects a willing seller to a willing buyer. Our responsibility is to ensure that the landlords’ properties are fairly advertised on our site and you like the property on check-in.   
 www.buenosairesstay.com and www.bastay.com does not accept responsibility for changes made by property owners to the furniture or decoration of any apartment and we do not accept responsibility for problems after check-in. So please ensure everything is in order before you hand over your rent - If you are not happy we will move you before you check-in, but no later.
The pictures posted on the www.buenosairesstay.com and www.bastay.com website do not necessarily represent the present state of any apartment.
If any reserved apartment suffers unexpected significant damage prior to check-in, www.buenosairesstay.com and www.bastay.com will make reasonable endeavours to find an alternative rental apartment, if the tenant refuses to check-in. If none can be found the full amount prepaid or deposited money will be refunded.  We will move tenants after check-in at their cost and problems must be resolved directly with landlords. 

Cancellation Policy:
Deposits for periods less than one month will not be refunded. 

Deposits retained on cancellation will never be greater than 20% of one month rent.
If a guest shortens a stay scheduled for less than three months, the prepaid rent is not refundable.
If a guest shortens a stay scheduled for more than three months, the amount paid in advance at the time of check in will be forfeited.
