Billing Supervisor| I was born in Tlaxcala, Mexico but raised in Sacramento, California for most of my life. My parents brought me over as an undocumented immigrant when I was three years old. I had a pretty normal childhood and it wasn’t until my teenage years when I was not able to get a driver’s license or a social security number that I started noticing the deep impact my undocumented status would have on the rest of my life. My parents were in the same situation, although they were both able to find employment, and continued to live undocumented for years to come, never seeking any opportunities to change their situation until it was absolutely necessary. Luckily for them, when that day came, they were a little better prepared than most families. I love my job because I know how hard it is to reach out for help being in this kind of situation and not knowing who to trust or what to do. It takes a lot of courage to take that first step, and I get to help these brave fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, any person who is willing to take that first step towards finding a way to become a U.S resident or citizen. I get to listen to their stories and help set up appointments with our excellent legal team so they can get the help they need. I know how much of a difference this can make in someone’s life and I am honored and privileged to be a part of it.
