Michael Jaafar believes that his most important objective when he’s in court for his clients is to be as aggressive as possible, and to win. The prosecutor had multiple witnesses and several months to prepare for the case. Mike had no witnesses besides his client, and zero time to prepare.

Mike graduated from the University of Michigan in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He went on to Wayne State University to receive his Juris Doctor in 2006. Michael has one motto when representing clients: “fight like the case is your first and last; don’t leave any stone unturned; always pretend that the case you are handling is for yourself or your loved one; and never back down…”

Michael is a frequent legal contributor on Fox news and hosts a regular radio show with well-known sports personality Mason (the Detroit Pistons Announcer). The show is devoted to answering legal questions from its callers, and it airs every Thursday at 5:30 pm. He has also been interviewed by many news stations over the years, and is a well-known attorney. His name or cases have appeared in USA TODAY, The Washington Post, The Detroit News, The Detroit Free Press, Yahoo Sports, the Huffington Post, and many more. His most recent publication was authoring a section of the Michigan Causes of Action Formbook for the ICLE.

From 2011 through 2013, Mike was lead counsel in a consumer protection class action lawsuit brought against McDonald’s Corporation and one of its Michigan franchisees for advertising halal (Muslim kosher) food for sale but then selling non-halal food instead. The result of the case was one of the largest class actions settlements in history involving McDonald’s Corporation. The settlement was used to fund two Michigan charities – the HUDA Clinic and the Arab American National Museum.

Mike also has owned a trucking company, and is currently corporate counsel to Motor City Towing and Chicago Automotive Group. Furthermore, Mike is a former accountant. And his accounting background gives him an edge in legal matters involving finance and numbers.

Michael handles a narrow set of legal matters: business and injury litigation, business formation, Credit Report Problems, and Debt Matters. He has advised several thousands of clients directly, and indirectly has advised hundreds of thousands of people through his frequent TV appearances and radio appearances.

Michael also was featured on Channel 7 for his successful pursuit of Leonard Bale, a landlord that took advantage of his tenants by victimizing them. The attorney that was representing the victims prior to Michael admittedly couldn’t handle the matter, and needed to refer it to a powerful firm that would represent the victims for free unless there was a recovery. That’s where Michael stepped in. Six months later, a favorable financial settlement was reached on behalf of the victims.
